Enterprise Estonia Announces Participation in 28th Edition of Gulfood 2023

Driving innovation in the clean and sustainable F&B industry, Enterprise Estonia has announced its participation in Gulfood 2023, the largest annual food and beverage event, which will be held between February 20 and 24 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Taste Estonia, the F&B sector platform of Enterprise Estonia, will be bringing 18 leading Estonian companies to Gulfood 2023.

Marking its largest participation to date, Taste Estonia will showcase the country’s healthy organic produce as well as innovative new concepts with the aim of driving both quality and sustainability in the market.

Marge Pihlapuu, Head of International Sales of Enterprise Estonia said: “Gulfood is the biggest and most important annual event for Estonian food producers. We prepare carefully to surprise the demanding audience and always offer something innovative, exciting and delicious.

Estonian brands showcasing at Gulfood 2023 include:

One segment of the line-up is beverages, including water brands like Haage - certified natural mineral water officially recognised with a superior taste award at Brussel International Taste Institute’s quality and taste test.

Soft drinks, drink bases and mixers (shrubs) are offered by boutique family business Öselwise. Light alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also on display by Saku Brewery.

The market will also see dairy brands such as Nordic Milk, Estonia’s leading dairy group with more than 125 years of experience. In addition to savoury dairy products, Nordic Milk is introducing specialty milk for baristas.

Valio on the other hand is a dairy company showcasing a selection of hard cheeses all made with local ingredients using traditional methods.

On the snacks and confectionery front, several brands will be taking part: Balsnack is a brand that gave the world delicious, oversized potato chips; Roosiku offers 100% vegan, organic and natural chocolates; and Revala delights with an exclusive and innovative range of dairy or vegan ice cream powders.

Plenty is on offer from health and wellness side. Rosena DK is introducing tasty and convenient collagen pastilles as a healthy diet supplement.

Chaga is showcasing medicinal mushroom and mushroom elixirs to boost immunity and add flavour to simple dishes. Clean air and untouched nature of Estonia is not only necessary for mushrooms to grow, it provides the conditions for bees to collect nectar from pristine meadows.

Honest Nektar is a 100% genuine honey company that offers traceable premium honey from organic collection areas.

Cooking oil brands introduced include EBM Group – a producer of quality vegetable cooking oils, and Scanola – offering refined Baltic rapeseed oil made only from allergen-free non-GMO seeds.

In additon to more traditional product offering, Estonia is showcasing some innovative foods and food techniques. Offering 100% organic tastes for the really little connoisseurs, pure Nordic baby food is introduced by BabyCool.

Must Umami is the organic black garlic that is cooked at low temperature at high humidity. As a result, delicious and fragrant umami-flavoured superfood is produced. Estonia is not only offering delicious products, but also showcasing biotechnology innovators from TFTAK.

A Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies that introduces innovative, healthy, functional and plant-based products to UAE region.

Strengthening Enterprise Estonia’s F&B credentials even further, the following Estonian food producers have been shortlisted as finalists at the Gulfood Innovation Awards:

Revala - Ice Cream Powder with Super Foods in the Best Plant-based Product Category, and Lactose Free Dairy – in the Best Dairy Product Category

Must Umami - Black Garlic Flower – in the Best Organic Product Category

Rosena DK – Eternal Youth Beauty Bites – in the Best Health and Wellness Product Category

From black garlic to chaga, healthy snacks and raw chocolate, shrubs and mineral water, dairy products, vegetable oils, collagen candies, beverages and ice cream powders, the retail and wholesale industry will see a significant increase in offerings from Estonia.
