Brainstorming on Sustainable Construction at MEDBW & MEMT in Abu Dhabi

The Middle East Design & Build Week (MEDBW) and Middle East Manufacturing & Technology Expo (MEMT) are gearing up to bring the construction, design, manufacturing, and technology industries together in September.

Jointly organized by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and CONNECT, the events aim to accelerate technological advancements in the construction, design, and manufacturing industry showcasing innovative solutions.

The event is scheduled between September 12 and 14 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), UAE. It will include an exclusive Construction Workshop at the event which will cover the BIM + digital technologies to create a smart sustainable future.

Distinguished industry influencers, C-suite executives and leaders will share insights on 3D print collaboration for construction, sustainable architecture, sustainable construction, and accessibility in design.

The events is supported by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), Ministry of Economy, UAE Chambers and Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), British Contract Furnishing Association, Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and Etihad Airways.

To strengthen the Abu Dhabi's position as the region’s most competitive industrial hub, the Abu Dhabi government has announced an investment of $2.72 billion across six industrial programmes. This move is expected to raise the size of the manufacturing sector to Dh172bn by 2031.

The strategy’s initiatives focus on key manufacturing sectors, namely, chemicals, machinery, electrical power, electrical equipment, transportation, agri-foods, and pharmaceuticals.

To spur growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector, the government plans to invest in Industry 4.0 programme by adopting new technologies and processes, digital geographic information system (GIS) mapping programme and home-grown supply chain programme.

Emphasizing on the role of MEDBW and MEMT, Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry said, “Today Abu Dhabi stands at the helm of an economic transformation driven by technological reforms in manufacturing and industrial growth."

"The Middle East Design & Build Week and Middle East Manufacturing & Technology Expo are set to augment the national strategies by presenting a trade platform for the construction, design, manufacturing, and industrialisation sectors, to develop business, network, and learn.”

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Strategy Partner of the events, play an instrumental role in driving economic growth and diversity across various sectors that advance the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
