Group AMANA has won the Sustainable Construction Design Award at the SME Awards 2023 held recently in Dubai.

The construction sector is a major source of pollution, so using sustainable materials can help correct this significantly. This award recognizes those in the construction industry that have made the move to environmentally friendlier materials to support climate action.

Group AMANA’s sustainability division has established a reputation in sustainable construction, green building solutions and environmental assessments for its clients. In August last year, AMANA marked a major milestone by delivering its first-ever vertical farm in the region - the Bustanica farm.

On the occasion, Mr Riad Bsaibes, President and CEO of AMANA Investments said: "For us, in the built environment, the biggest sustainability issue is the carbon footprints of the construction and real estate sector. It constitutes almost 40% of the carbon footprint, globally.

Mr Bsaibes added: "We as a sector, are doing our best to reduce that carbon footprint - both in the embodied carbon footprints of the buildings and our operating carbon footprints."
