Dubai-based sustainable packaging startup, Al Tabeeah has won the ESG Startup Of The Year Award sponsored by Unilever at the Sustainability Excellence Award 2022 in Dubai.

Over the last five years, the Middle East region has seen a number of start-ups emerging and achieving success in a very short time, with sustainable practices and concern for the environment at the core of their operations.

Al Tabeeah or ‘The Nature’ today has become well-known for biodegradable and compostable packaging, reusable bags, cutlery, and seed paper stationery.

Going beyond sustainable product manufacturing Al Tabee’ah is also tirelessly making efforts to collaborate with individuals and organizations to create greater eco-awareness and encouraging lifestyles that ultimately help in reducing waste and creating healthier people.

On the occasion, Shaifalii Mishra, Founder and CVO - Al Tabeeah, said that the biggest sustainability issue today is not having enough knowledge about availability of sustainable materials and options.

She added: "Ignorance is one of them - some people do not care for being sustainable in their day to day lives.

"It is very easy to take one step at a time. Being sustainable comes when you put your own mind and soul into it and think about what you are leaving behind as your legacy."
