Discussions on how to continue accelerating economic progress and digitalization of society while ensuring a sustainable future have been the theme of the events organized by SAS, the leader in analytics.

The event was held at the exclusive location of the Dubai Museum of the Future in the presence of business leaders across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.

In his opening speech at the event Tayfun Topkoc, Managing Director, META at SAS, said:

For executives across the region, sustainability, talent growth, and Cloud adoption are on the top of their agendas. Our goal is to empower companies to become truly data-driven and make sustainable decisions based on analytical insights.

SAS is committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, in alignment with UAE’s Sustainability Agenda” continued Mr. Topkoc. The UAE pledged to "leave no one behind" and to shift the world to a sustainable and resilient path."

By aligning its business with the ambitious aim to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, SAS it is committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 while the UAE prepares to host COP28 in November 2023.

The participants agreed on the importance of cloud computing as the key, to allow companies to shift from operational work to innovation and agility as well as on the necessity of supporting the country’s digital transformation.

However, the lack of skilled employees in the field is still a challenge globally.

To address this problem, SAS is strengthening its collaboration with the academic world with the aim of training the next generations with the digital skills needed to compete in the current and future marketplace.

As an example of its efforts toward sustainability, SAS did not print any materials for the event and relied only on digital assets.

Furthermore, SAS partnered with My Farm Dubai, a sustainable and organic farm, to plant a tree for each participant at the conference.
