SME Changes Awards Date, Extends Nominations

Due to a surge in demand, SME extends nominations and changes Awards date

SME News Service

Sustainability Middle East (SME) has announced a change in the date of its upcoming SME Awards to January 11th due to a surge in demand due to an unforeseen number of nominee entries.

SME has also opened up nominations until the end of 2022 in order to facilitate extra demand and to foster opportunities for more future nominations.

SME CEO Sam Khan said: “Ideally I don’t like to change dates when it comes to conferences, however, if I do so it’s because of major changes that serve to enhance the ceremony as is this case with this.

“In essence, we’ve been overwhelmed with the number of nominees coming in, with businesses and individuals all over the region eager to show their achievements.

“Naturally, this means we need to find more time and space to ensure these key figures and organisations are included to make an even better Awards evening.”

SME to Host Major Sustainability Conference in Dubai

The inaugural SME Awards will serve as a definitive platform to celebrate and recognise the Middle East's top enterprises and individuals for their exceptional achievements in sustainability, green practices and future-proofing their businesses for green revolution.

It will cover a range of sustainability-related issues as well as issues regarding social change.

The awards ceremony will welcome regional VVIP’s, dignitaries, business leaders and leading academics to enjoy a memorable evening, providing opportunities to learn about best-practices and network with the industry’s finest.

Renowned media personality, Dubai One Presenter Katie Jensen, is slated to be the presenter for the evening.

The SME Awards will cover a variety of sectors, including:

  • Special Recognition

  • Agriculture

  • Construction & Infrastructure

  • Energy

  • ESG

  • Transport & Logistics

The SME Awards will cap off SME’s launch into the industry on the back of its 1 billion views campaign.

This campaign consists of SME’s inaugural magazine, the ‘50 Leaders in Sustainability’ edition; and the Sustainability Middle East Experts’ Conference, which will see figures from the 50 leaders in the magazine attend and take part in debates along with regional and global experts.
