Suqia Ensures Water Security & Sustainability for the Under Privileged

More than 13.6 million beneficiaries have benefited from the projects in 37 countries by the end of 2021

Under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) strives to achieve the directives of Vice President H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Authority stated.

H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Suqia UAE said that the the UAE Water Foundation (Suqia) implements of development projects and providing potable water to communities suffering from water scarcity and pollution.

Suqia works in cooperation with the concerned organisations locally and globally, and our strategic partners Emirates Red Crescent, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Est., Dar Al Ber Society and Dubai Cares.

More than 13.6 million beneficiaries have benefited from our projects in 37 countries by the end of 2021. Suqia also supervises the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with total prize money of $1 million.

The third cycle of the Award aims to encourage research institutions, individuals and innovators from all over the world to find new and innovative technologies for the production, distribution, storage, control, purification and desalination of water using renewable energy.

"Through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award and its development projects, Suqia contributes to creating positive and sustainable change and clean water for millions of people around the world,” added Al Tayer.
