Sheikha Shamma Joins Leadership Council of International Centre for Research on Women
Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates and Judy Woodruff of PBS News Hour are joining The International Center for Research on Women’s (ICRW) esteemed Leadership Council.
The ICRW Leadership Council is comprised of high-profile global leaders who provide strategic advice to the organization on a particular area of work. Council members serve as ambassadors for ICRW and its mission.
ICRW President and CEO, Peggy Clark said: “I am honored to welcome Her Highness and Judy Woodruff to our Leadership Council.

Business leader, social entrepreneur, and published author, H.H. Sheikha Shamma is the President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), Founder of the Shamma bint Sultan Sustainability Initiatives social enterprise, Co-Founder of Aurora50 and Founder of Reset MENA.
Her Highness noted: “The International Center for Research on Women has a clear mission to advance equality for women and girls around the world, which aligns with my strong personal and professional commitment to advocacy for gender and social equity.
"I look forward to working closely with my fellow members of the Leadership Council to empower future generations by forging opportunities for education, advocacy, and fulfilling livelihoods.”
A senior correspondent and the former anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour, Ms Woodruff has covered politics and other news for five decades at NBC, CNN, and PBS and has received the Peabody Journalistic Integrity Award and an Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for her work.
She is a founding co-chair of the International Women’s Media Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging women in journalism and communication industries worldwide.
Ms Woodruff, when describing The International Center for Research on Women’s work, noted: “I’m a big believer in research; the more solid data we have, the better equipped we are to make good decisions for ourselves, our families and for all of humankind.”
