COP28 President-Designate Stresses on Technology to Keep Paris Agreement Ambitions Alive
The latest IPCC report has confirmed that the world must reduce emissions by 43% by 2030. And that is of course necessary for keeping the ambition of 1.5 (Paris Agreement) alive, COP28 UAE President-Designate Dr Sultan Al Jaber said.
In his opening address at the UAE Climate Tech Conference, Dr Al Jaber highlighted the importance of finding effective climate technology solutions to keep the ambitions of the Paris Agreement alive.
"We need to find ways to hold back emissions, not progress. We need breakthrough solutions and the single most critical source of these solutions is technology," Dr Al Jaber said.
He added, "By leveraging climate technology we can build a new economic development model based on putting an end to emissions. All this while breathing a new life to sustainable economic growth."
