ORIX Invests in theDOCK’s Navigator II with Special Focus on Sustainability
ORIX Corporation (“ORIX”), a diversified multinational financial group, announced today to invest in Navigator II, an investment fund managed by theDOCK, an Israeli venture capital firm focused on maritime innovation.
Navigator II invests in and supports startup companies developing innovative technologies which address the fields of shipping, ports, and supply chain. Since inception, the fund has already made several investments, among them Hoopo, Conbo.ai, Harbor Lab, DockTech, Wisor and Gigaton.
ORIX’s investment marks a significant milestone for theDOCK and reinforces the fund's commitment to fostering innovation and driving growth in the maritime and supply chain industry through investments in cutting-edge technologies and innovative business models.
Sipchem to use Sea/ to Track and Reduce Maritime Carbon
The investment also aligns with ORIX' sustainability efforts, as theDOCK's portfolio companies are focused on reducing carbon emissions and improving efficiency in the maritime and supply chain industry.
ORIX’s investment signals the increased interest of Japanese leaders in innovation in general and in Israeli and European born companies specifically. It also further highlights the prospects of win-win relations between large corporations and emerging startups.
